Zaman-Zaman is the director of the orphanage that Sohrab was staying in. During the meeting with Zaman, Farid wanted to kill him. Zaman added another twist to the story. Amir and Farid had come to get Sobrab, but Zaman had stole him to the Talib official. "You think I don't have family in Pakistan and Iran? I could have ran like everyone else... I stayed because of them" (257). Zaman seemed like a flat character but he affected Amir's view. He became a dynamic character when he changed Amir's path. Without him, Amir would be lost in the search of Hassen's son.
